Bellevue High School Athletic Director Brian Hercules has named Jordan Nilsen as the new Varsity baseball coach. Nilsen is a former BHS baseball team captain and outfielder for Washington State University.
COACHING BACKGROUND
After graduating from Washington State University, in 2000, Jordan accepted an opportunity to coach hitters and outfielders for Missouri Western State College. After returning from Missouri Jordan led the first Bellevue Baseball Club (http://bellevuebaseballclub.org) team in 2002. Jordan has coached within the Bellevue Baseball club organization every year since its inception.
Jordan is familiar with BHS baseball as he led the junior varsity team to a 16-2 record in 2006 under then head coach Mark Tyler.
“I’m honored the BHS athletic department has provided me the opportunity to coach my alma mater. I have a lot to learn about coaching KingCo baseball; fortunately I’m surrounded by an experienced coaching staff. I am eager to start working with an ambitious high school group and begin building strong relationships with local youth programs.”
ATHLETIC BACKGROUND
Jordan Nilsen grew up playing Bellevue-West little league, Bellevue Pony baseball, and captained the 1995 Bellevue HS baseball team. Jordan eventually finished his playing career at WSU for Coach Steve Farrington in 2000.
